About me

My interest in photography began with my first trip abroad to Europe.  I was so captivated by the new sights I was seeing, that I wanted to make them last forever so they would never be forgotten or fade from memory.  At the same time, I wanted to capture my own vision.  Whether it was a doorway or a cobblestone street, I wanted to remember them the way I saw them.  These were the feelings that first led me to pick up a camera with artistic intention.  My travels landed me in Barcelona where I lived and studied photography over the next three years.  The remarkable beauty of this city inspired me everyday and my camera rarely left my side.
When I returned to New York, I continued studying at the International Center for Photography and was lucky enough to find photography work in two fields that I love.  I worked on film sets as a “stills photographer,” and was hired to shoot live concerts for various music publications.  Being a passionate fan of both film and music, I was thrilled!
It was then that I met my husband and big change was around the corner.  We soon had our first child and I quickly realized that I didn’t want to spend 12 hours a day away from my son.   So, I traded in the long hours and late nights in film and music for the long hours and late nights in motherhood.  Our second son followed and I settled in.
I had always photographed my passions, and my children were no exception.  A first smile or giggle or tooth was monumental; so were their tiny hands and baby steps. They were miracles. And like most children, they were curious, spontaneous and not self conscious around a camera.  These are some of the qualities that make photographing children so unique and special to me.  Capturing a glimpse into the soul of a child is a treasure, and so for me the progression into children’s photography was inevitable.
I feel lucky to have been able to photograph so many amazing things that have captivated my heart.  I invite you to visit the portfolio section of this website, where you can see pieces of my past, as well as the portrait section that features my current work with children.  I thank you for reading my story and hope that I might have the privilege of capturing images that are close to your heart, that stir your soul, and about which you share a passion too.My interest in photography began with my first trip abroad to Europe.  I was so captivated by the new sights I was seeing, that I wanted to make them last forever so they would never be forgotten or fade from memory.  At the same time, I wanted to capture my own vision. We have had nothing but the BEST from Christine! She truly has a gift in capturing memories and working with children. Her patience amazes me, whether is was getting our newborn to sleep for his photos or dealing with our "on the move" toddler. We have had three wonderful sessions and we can't wait to work with her again!
