I loved this family…they were fun, relaxed and the conversation came easy. The kids were adorable and we had no problem getting them to laugh and play and even strike a dapper pose or two. The little guy was one and half, so when you put him down, he was on the go! And I followed – hey, it’s part of the job description. Then I finally smartened up and asked his brother to catch him, which made for some cute shots.
For this session, we visited the beautiful NJ Botanical Gardens, and this was before the freak snow storm wreaked havoc on many of it’s trees and plants. But our timing was good and the grounds were such a picturesque backdrop for this beautiful family…I just love the results.

So many of my sessions involve soothing newborns or coaxing young kids that I forget how wonderful it is to shoot willing models. These two were not only willing but each had a beauty that was unique and truly exquisite. And sure that makes my job easier, but even still, I think what I liked most was the way they interacted with each other. There was obviously a lot of love between them, but also enough teasing and kidding to make the results natural and fun.

Wow…this summer really flew by. It’s been my busiest summer yet in business, especially with beach sessions down at LBI! Unfortunately, something had to give…and it was my blogging. My beach season started in April and believe it or not, I’m on my way to the beach this weekend for one final session and who knows, maybe I’ll even get some pictures of my own children.
But before the feel of summer totally fades, giving way to fall foliage and Halloween mania, I wanted to show some of my favorite images from sessions that I didn’t have a chance to blog this summer…

I loved this session…even though this little 7 month old guy had some teeth coming in that were causing him some pain…which is why I love this first image. Everything goes right for the mouth…even a foot! We gave him a rest, a snack and a change of clothes and he was back in business! Battery Park City was our backdrop for this lovely NYC family’s session. It was a hot summer night, but the sunset was beautiful as was the company…

These two were really sweet models and mom was quite the entertainer, I must say. I’d love to have her around for all my shoots to make kids smile, laugh and even dance! Combine two adorable kids, a silly mom and a scenic location at peak foliage and this is what can happen…
Ok…so it’s not always easy….
…but in the end, patience pays off!

Brother and sister…and good friends too! You could tell after a few minutes that these two were real buddies! They were constantly laughing and joking – it was awesome to see and made for some adorable images! (They’re being beautiful doesn’t hurt either!)
This family travels all the way from Texas to vacation at the Jersey shore…I’m telling you, LBI is just that special! It was really a pleasure to meet them all…they could not have been any warmer or friendlier…and two hours passed in a snap.
Towards the end of our session, we ran into some sea-creatures and this brave boy showed me how to put a crab to sleep. Apparently if you flip it over and rub it’s belly it falls asleep within a few seconds. That’s when he picked it up and showed it to me up close! Eeeeew! Well, it was kinda cool actually. Can’t say the same for the sting ray we found…

Back down to LBI this week for a really fun session with this gorgeous senior. Obviously the camera likes her…we did too! My husband was there to help with the bounce (a big white circle that bounces light at the subject’s face) and to help keep her laughing – like THAT was hard! 
Well, not only is she beautiful, but very fun, down to earth and sweet! She and her family travelled all the way from Michigan to vacation at the beautiful Jersey shore. We loved meeting you guys…have a safe trip home!
