Wow…this summer really flew by. It’s been my busiest summer yet in business, especially with beach sessions down at LBI! Unfortunately, something had to give…and it was my blogging. My beach season started in April and believe it or not, I’m on my way to the beach this weekend for one final session and who knows, maybe I’ll even get some pictures of my own children.
But before the feel of summer totally fades, giving way to fall foliage and Halloween mania, I wanted to show some of my favorite images from sessions that I didn’t have a chance to blog this summer…

I loved this session…even though this little 7 month old guy had some teeth coming in that were causing him some pain…which is why I love this first image. Everything goes right for the mouth…even a foot! We gave him a rest, a snack and a change of clothes and he was back in business! Battery Park City was our backdrop for this lovely NYC family’s session. It was a hot summer night, but the sunset was beautiful as was the company…

What do you do when you have a beach session scheduled and it’s really windy out? You start inside and gradually work your way to the beach…
I’ve often wondered what it would be like to have a sister, especially when I see girls as close as these two. And their parents were warm and welcoming from start to finish – you can just see it in these images.
We eventually made it to the beach for some candids by the surf…wonderful summer memories for sure!

Well, with Hurricane Irene upon us, I thought we could use some sunny beach pictures to brighten things up… These boys got so big since the last time I saw them for a newborn & big brother session. Look at them now – all kinds of adorable. And what a change in just eight months!
Beach sessions for children are some of my favorites. Mom and Dad dressed them in great beachwear and brought colorful, wooden beach chairs which made for awesome props. At the end of the session, we were joined by the whole family… for a beautiful finale!

I truly enjoyed the afternoon that I spent with this beautiful girl and her family. She was sweet and relaxed and just lovely to be around, as was all of her family. We covered a lot of ground and managed to work with the very windy day we were given, but I actually love the results…her wind-blown hair looks amazing, doesn’t it?

This precious little baby girl was one of my first newborn shoots of the summer and let me tell ya, it was a hot one!! As babies tend to sleep much better in the heat, I asked mom to turn off the AC so we could get her groggy for the session. Well, she fell asleep and stayed in a deep slumber the whole time as I sweat bullets, but the results were well worth it. She is beautiful, just like her mommy, and I love the image of the two of them; we decided to get that pose at the last minute and sometimes those end up being some of the best ones! Hope you enjoy the rest of your summer girls…

I love that I get to encourage laughing on the job! It doesn’t always work, but it certainly did for this session. These four kids were awesome…they were engaging, interesting, and just delightful. They laughed easily, especially the girls, which not only makes my job easier but more fun. And I’m all about fun on the job. These portraits are a surprise Father’s Day gift from their mom to their dad and I just love that idea.
It’s always fun for me to try to capture each child’s unique beauty and I think you can see the different personalities shining through in these images…
