Beautiful boy… | Newborn Photographer | Westchester, New York

There’s nothing more beautiful than a newborn being held in his mother’s arms.  Or a sleeping baby…so pure and  peaceful.  Capturing these precious moments is what makes my job meaningful and I feel privileged every time I am given the opportunity…

Congratulations to this family on their beautiful baby boy…

City Girl… | NYC Child Photographer | Madison Square Park, NYC

I had the extreme pleasure of meeting the most adorable one year old girl and her family this past weekend.  She was celebrating her birthday that day…and man, was she on the go.  Apparently she just started walking recently and boy was she good at it!  Actually, she’s pretty good at running…as you will see below.  I love shooting in New York City…so many amazing sites and backdrops for photos.  Madison Square park has a lovely fountain and is close to the iconic Flat Iron Building…

Connections… | Maternity & Child Photographer | Westchester, NY

I titled this blog post “connections” because that is what I felt during this shoot.  A beautiful connection between this radiant mother-to-be and her family and neighbor ~ everyone was so warm and welcoming.   It was a hot 90 degree day, but we found some shade under two big beautiful trees at her neighbor’s house, who was so sweet and friendly in inviting us to use his yard where we did the majority of the session.  We did sneak inside for a break and wardrobe change, where we took one of my favorite maternity shots by the window… I just love this mother’s beautiful profile and the look of love she has for her baby-to-be.  Afterwards, we went back outside for more fun with her adorable 16 month old daughter.  She was a little shy at first, but soon opened up and shared her sweet smile with us all…and of course, you can see the amazing connection between mother and daughter…

True Angel… | Newborn Photographer | New York City, New York

Truth is this little boy could not have been any more angelic.  When he was awake, he barely fussed;  once he fell asleep, he was OUT.  This means more fun for me…I can go ahead and put him in a hat or hammock and he just keeps on sleeping comfortably.  (Hey that’s what a hammock’s for, right?)  Anyway, here he is in all his preciousness… the true angel.

Shy Guy… | NY Children’s Photographer | Rockland County

It took all my creative playing powers to win the trust of this endearing little guy.   When friends of mine called me for his portrait session, I thought, “A five year boy?  No problem!  I’m totally in my comfort zone.”  Well, he was very shy at first.  Soooooo, I talked up Yo Gabba Gabba, the Mario Brothers and the Yankees.  I even ran to buy some  Skittles and orange Tic Tacs…and then fed them to my toy dinosaur.  I think that did it!  He must’ve thought, “Hey, she’s alright.”   As we started playing, I got some smiles and laughs and we even went for a little stroll along Congers Lake.  He is very adorable…as you will see.  And I hear afterwards he said I was cute! :)

I love this one cause it captures his shyness.  And his beautiful eyelashes.

Bear Mountain on a Whim… | Children’s Photographer | Rockland County, NY

Bear Mountain has some of the most spectacular sunsets and best vistas in our area.  On this beautiful 70º Sunday in November, we thought we’d dress the boys up and head there for some Christmas card photos.  The thing is, we left a little late, almost missed the sunset AND  realized our gas tank was on empty (I mean, empty) half-way up the mountain.  Did we turn back?  Heck no!  We had light to catch!  About 15 minutes worth. The pressure was on and here’s a bit of what we got….

The happy ending… we coasted all the way down the mountain (in neutral) til we found a nearby gas station.  There we rewarded ourselves with ice cream and chips!  :)
