I loved this family…they were fun, relaxed and the conversation came easy. The kids were adorable and we had no problem getting them to laugh and play and even strike a dapper pose or two. The little guy was one and half, so when you put him down, he was on the go! And I followed – hey, it’s part of the job description. Then I finally smartened up and asked his brother to catch him, which made for some cute shots.
For this session, we visited the beautiful NJ Botanical Gardens, and this was before the freak snow storm wreaked havoc on many of it’s trees and plants. But our timing was good and the grounds were such a picturesque backdrop for this beautiful family…I just love the results.

OK…I know we just celebrated Halloween. And on top of that we had a major snow storm…in some places we got a foot and a half of snow, and many in my area are without power from fallen trees and downed power lines. Sooooo, I thought it only appropriate to inject some warm wishes into this cool, first day of November.
This beach session took place on the very last day of September…ya know, back when it was balmy. These kids were adorable, fun and photogenic! Mom chose some great outfits (love those dresses!) and as I’ve said before LBI as a backdrop just doesn’t get much better…

Wow…this summer really flew by. It’s been my busiest summer yet in business, especially with beach sessions down at LBI! Unfortunately, something had to give…and it was my blogging. My beach season started in April and believe it or not, I’m on my way to the beach this weekend for one final session and who knows, maybe I’ll even get some pictures of my own children.
But before the feel of summer totally fades, giving way to fall foliage and Halloween mania, I wanted to show some of my favorite images from sessions that I didn’t have a chance to blog this summer…

What do you do when you have a beach session scheduled and it’s really windy out? You start inside and gradually work your way to the beach…
I’ve often wondered what it would be like to have a sister, especially when I see girls as close as these two. And their parents were warm and welcoming from start to finish – you can just see it in these images.
We eventually made it to the beach for some candids by the surf…wonderful summer memories for sure!

Well, with Hurricane Irene upon us, I thought we could use some sunny beach pictures to brighten things up… These boys got so big since the last time I saw them for a newborn & big brother session. Look at them now – all kinds of adorable. And what a change in just eight months!
Beach sessions for children are some of my favorites. Mom and Dad dressed them in great beachwear and brought colorful, wooden beach chairs which made for awesome props. At the end of the session, we were joined by the whole family… for a beautiful finale!

I love that I get to encourage laughing on the job! It doesn’t always work, but it certainly did for this session. These four kids were awesome…they were engaging, interesting, and just delightful. They laughed easily, especially the girls, which not only makes my job easier but more fun. And I’m all about fun on the job. These portraits are a surprise Father’s Day gift from their mom to their dad and I just love that idea.
It’s always fun for me to try to capture each child’s unique beauty and I think you can see the different personalities shining through in these images…

If you live in the north east, you know you’re ready for summer. It’s been a long, cold winter and a very wet spring and I think we’re all dreaming about some warm days in the sun with sand between our toes…
Well, it’s never too early to think about booking a beach session. This family bravely booked theirs for the beginning of April. Wow – that’s daring! Miraculously, it was a balmy 55º with very little wind….what were the chances? I must say it was quite beautiful. LBI off-season is less crowded but no less special. And there’s no line at The Black Whale either.
This mom’s objective was to get just one good shot of the whole family together…I think we more than succeeded. Her twin girl and boy were not only adorable in looks but had the most endearing personalities as well. Mom & Dad couldn’t have been cooler. We had some real fun together….
Mom did a fabulous job of dressing and accessorizing. I love that. You can see how nicely denim photographs, and adding bows and fun jewelry can really enhance the look. I love her off-the-shoulder sweater also…
I love this boy’s vest – it makes him look like a little man!
We start in Beach Haven, then drove up to “old Barney” to finish up the session…
